This year, the Japan World’s Tourism Film Festival (JWTFF) received a total of 1,334 submissions from around the world. We sincerely thank all filmmakers, tourism professionals, and students for their valuable contributions and continued support.

Our Definition of “Official Selection” and “Finalist”
Please note that JWTFF is not a traditional film festival but a Tourism Film Festival. Our terminology therefore carries specific meanings within this context.
Official Selection
Films that received high evaluations from three or more judges are recognized as Official Selections. Filmmakers are welcome to use the Official Selection laurel as a mark of recognition.
Please note that we do not publish a public list of Official Selection films. Selected filmmakers receive notification and the official laurel directly by email.
Finalists
Finalists are films that received exceptionally high scores from the jury and represent the highest-ranked works within each competition category. Finalists are publicly announced on our official website.
If a film is available for open access, it may be featured in our online gallery. In some cases, jury members may provide written comments.
Finalists are eligible for awards; however, not all finalists will receive awards. Upon request, an official certificate (PDF) can be issued after the award ceremony.

About the International “Student” Competition
The International “Student” Competition is a dedicated category for students and emerging filmmakers from around the world.
At JWTFF, we consider nurturing the next generation of tourism filmmakers to be one of our core missions. This category values not only technical excellence, but also creativity, originality, and fresh perspectives on destinations and tourism.
Through this competition, we aim to provide an international platform where young talents can connect, learn, and grow beyond borders. We believe that supporting student filmmakers is essential to shaping the future of tourism storytelling.
What Are the Asian Finalists?
The Asian Competition is a regional category for films produced in Asia. Asian Finalists are selected from among the Official Selections and represent the highest-ranked Asian works within this category.
Japanese films are not included in the Asian Competition, as they are evaluated under the Japan Competition.
Screening and Availability
As JWTFF is not a conventional theatrical film festival, most films are shared via open-access platforms. Therefore, not all finalist films will necessarily be screened at in-person events.
Submission and Selection Process
Due to the large number of submissions, not all films can be selected. We deeply respect the effort behind every submission and sincerely appreciate your understanding of the jury’s decisions.
