第８回日本国際観光映像祭、終了いたしました。応募作品は、国内174本。国際は1334本。その中から日本部門、国際部門において素晴らしい映像作品に賞を授与できたことを大変嬉しく思います。
国際部門における受賞については、すでに私たち、JWTFFが所属するCIFFTサーキットのランキングにも反映しております。このような素晴らしいニュースを、受賞者の方々はプレスリリース等にどうぞ、お使いください。
今回は、受賞の際にお渡しした賞状、トロフィーについて、その理由について、ここで少し述べさせていただきます。これらの賞状やトロフィーは今回の開催地である、滋賀県甲賀市の文化資源と関係しています。では、今回の映像祭で制作した、石田裕一監督の甲賀を紹介する映像をご覧になってください。
The 8th Japan World’s Tourism Film Festival has successfully concluded.
This year, we received 174 submissions in the Japan Competition and 1,334 in the International Competition.
We are truly delighted that we were able to honor outstanding works in both categories with awards.
The results of the International Competition have already been reflected in the rankings of the CIFFT circuit, of which JWTFF is a member.
We warmly encourage all award winners to share this achievement through press releases and other media.
We would also like to take a moment to explain the concept behind the certificates and trophies presented at this year’s awards.
These awards are closely connected to the cultural heritage of Koka, the host city of this edition.

このように、甲賀市は、日本古来の都である京都にも近く、そのような日本文化が色濃く残りながら、なおかつ山や川といった自然も多く、山岳信仰が強くあり、それらが忍者を生み出した背景です。また、土も良いので陶芸の街であり、お茶の名産地です。
In this way, Koka is located close to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, where traditional culture still remains deeply rooted.
At the same time, the area is rich in natural landscapes such as mountains and rivers, and has long been shaped by strong traditions of mountain worship.
These cultural and geographical conditions form the background from which the ninja culture emerged.
In addition, the region’s high-quality clay has made it a center of pottery, and it is also well known as a renowned tea-producing area.
Engraved Wooden Plaque
銘板（Engraved Wooden Plaque）については、国際部門のAwards、国内部門においては最優秀賞に配布させていただいております。こちらは今回の開催地、甲賀市の木材のヒノキを使用しています。あまり知られていないことですが、日本は林業大国です。甲賀が生んだ銘板をどうぞ、大切に展示してください。
The engraved wooden plaques are presented for the Awards in the International Competition, and for the Grand Prize in the Japan Competition.
These plaques are crafted from Japanese cypress (hinoki) sourced from Koka, the host city of this year’s festival.
While it may not be widely known, Japan is a country rich in forestry resources.
We sincerely hope that you will treasure and proudly display this plaque, born from the forests of Koka.
Certificate
賞状（Certificate）のデザインには、今年はやまなみ工房の作家作品を使用しております。
This year, the design of the certificates features artwork created by artists from atelier yamani, highlighting their unique creativity and expression.
やまなみ工房は、福祉施設であり、身体的・精神的にチャレンジする人々が通い、そこでは芸術活動が行われています。その模様を紹介した映像がありますので、ぜひにご覧ください。
Atelier yamani is a welfare facility where people with diverse physical and cognitive abilities come together to engage in artistic creation.
We invite you to watch a film that offers a glimpse into their creative world.
また、みなさまにお配りしたポストカードも、こちらの作家の作品です。

Trophy
トロフィー（Trophy）は信楽焼を採用しています。グランプリ作品、日本部門グランプリ作品には、信楽焼の作家に今回のために制作してもらっています。また、ART&FACTORY JAPANなど主要な賞にも作家の作品を使用しています。信楽焼とはなんなのか、以下の映像をご覧ください。
The trophies are crafted in Shigaraki ware.
For the Grand Prix and the Japan Grand Prix, original works were specially commissioned from Shigaraki artists for this occasion.
In addition, their works are also featured in major awards such as ART&FACTORY JAPAN.

それ以外の賞には、タヌキの信楽焼を授与しております。なぜにタヌキか。信楽焼は古い歴史を持つ焼き物です。そして、日本人の間でも信楽焼といえばタヌキと思われています。しかし、タヌキ自体がこれほど広まったのは、昭和26年の頃からです。タヌキの置物を収集していた昭和天皇陛下が信楽を訪問なされた際に、住民が日の丸を持ったタヌキを並べて歓迎したところ、天皇陛下は大変お喜びになり、歌を詠まれました。それが広く知られて、タヌキが人気となりました。今では縁起がいい置物として、贈答品として大変使われています。
For the other awards, we present Shigaraki ware tanuki figurines.
Why tanuki? (Tanuki is Japanese raccoon dog.)
Shigaraki ware is a traditional ceramic with a long history.
Among Japanese people, when one thinks of Shigaraki ware, the image of the tanuki often comes to mind. However, the widespread popularity of these figures dates back to around 1951.
When Emperor Showa visited Shigaraki, local residents welcomed him by displaying rows of tanuki statues holding small Japanese flags. The Emperor was greatly pleased and composed a poem on that occasion.
This episode became widely known, and the tanuki figures gained popularity across the country.
Today, they are regarded as auspicious symbols and are widely used as gifts.
また、これは地元の人も知らないエピソードですが、タヌキの置物は、その後、在日米軍の間でトロフィーとして使われるようになっています。そのため、アメリカにおいてもトロフィーとして知られています。
This is a little-known story, even among local residents: these tanuki figurines were later adopted as trophies by U.S. forces stationed in Japan.
As a result, they came to be recognized in the United States as a unique form of trophy.
