Synopsis

An elderly man enters a sauna facility set in the snow. Inside the hut, there is the scent of soot and the crackle of firewood; he simply warms his body in silence. Those dozen or so minutes separate him from everyday life. His breathing grows rougher, he feels his heart pounding, and finally he pours water on the stove. The water evaporates, and steam slowly begins to wrap around him—like gently melting snow.

He opens the door and cools his overheated body with snow. As he feels the snow blend with his body heat, he opens his eyes to see snow falling from the tree branches. In the light, the tiny flakes disappear one by one, carrying his awareness far away.

He rises slowly and walks toward the lake. Before him lies a true silver world. Moved beyond words, he instinctively takes a deep breath.

We made this film with the belief that entering the sauna allows you to notice the small happiness in everyday life.
