The Best East Asian Film, JWTFF2020
By this event, A Night Tour in the Dream of Spring Cherry-Blossoms, we intended mainly to take a review of the relationship between us and our lands.
In spring when cherry-blossoms are blooming, a large numbers of tourists will crowd into the Shizhuo mountain. For the mountain itself, it is like a feast of tea or a feast of scenery which last for a very short time. The florescence continues for almost one month and then it comes to its end, so on the long hallway of time, the shortness of the flower season feels to me just like a dream.
Therefore, I came up with the concept of the Dream of Spring Cherry-Blossoms. It takes us back to the purest relationship between human beings and the lands. People who came to the tea ceremony can all have a tea experience like a dream no matter by the atmosphere the earth brings up or by the guidance given by the tea masters.
In the long term, I personally think this event is very exciting because we get to take the symbol of A-Li Mountain, the Cherry-Blossom, as the theme of the co-creative art with the local residences, and by which to present the aesthetics of living of the indigenous community. And not only will it drive the growth of local tea industry, but more of the growth of experience economy as well as the follow-up restaurants with local characteristics and all these can have different appearances in different seasons and which will make it more able to link up with both international and rejuvenated markets and brings up a new face for the tea industry of A-Li Mountain.
In the process of the night tour with lanterns in the cherry-blossom gardens, we get people’s hearts to calm down and to feel the extremely illusionary feeling of the cherry-blossom of the night. And when they finish the tour and finally enter the tea ceremony place, they will find each tea ceremony section has their own local tea masters. These masters would create their arts with different presentations of tea ceremony and also with different teas to present a cup of indigenous good tea for every guest.
Is it actually us who break into the dreams of this cherry-blossom garden, or is it actually us who are part of this dream and we ourselves are the cherry-blossom trees that are blooming with efforts in this season?
