The “Diamond Route”, a route covering a wide area consisting of Fukushima, Tochigi and Ibaraki prefectures, was created in order to attract foreign tourists coming from Tokyo. This video showcases samurai culture which tourists from Europe have a deep interest. It focuses on the theme of “Samurai Spirit” expressed through samurai festivals held across the three prefectures. The video’s goal is to create an image inside the viewer’s mind that they can meet a real-life samurai along the Diamond Route.

There was once a little girl who learned the way of Japanese swordsmanship but could hardly improve no matter how hard she tried. As she grew up, she came to know the meaning of “Samurai Spirit” from the samurai festivals. One day, the little girl became a samurai. To be recognized by her instructor, she would have to show her samurai spirit.
